Terms, conditions & rider indemnity

Applies to every rider. Please read to the end.

1. The event

The Amar Jawan Ride ("the Ride") is a charitable, non-competitive, guided group motorcycle ride organised by Amar Jawan Riders ("AJR") to raise funds for the families of martyred personnel of the Indian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces, disbursed through one or more registered non-profit partner organisations selected and published by AJR. Participation is voluntary and free of charge.

2. Eligibility

You must hold a valid two-wheeler driving licence, ride a roadworthy and registered motorcycle with valid insurance and PUC, and be medically fit to ride. Pillion riders participate under the same terms. AJR may refuse participation to any rider at its discretion, including on ride day.

3. Assumption of risk

Motorcycling on public roads involves inherent risk, including serious injury or death. You participate entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for your own safety, your motorcycle, your riding conduct, and compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and all local traffic laws at all times, including within the convoy.

4. Indemnity and release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless AJR, its organisers, city hosts, ride marshals, event management team members, volunteers, sponsors, and any partner organisation from any claim, liability, loss, damage, or expense arising from your participation, including accidents, property damage, theft, or personal injury, except where caused by proven gross negligence of the organisers.

5. Ride conduct

Helmets are mandatory for rider and pillion. No alcohol or intoxicants before or during the Ride. Follow marshal instructions at all times. No stunts, racing, or lane-splitting within the convoy. The dress theme is encouraged but must never compromise safety gear. Violation may result in immediate removal from the Ride and the platform.

6. Fundraising and donations

All donations are voluntary, non-refundable, and disbursed to the partner organisation(s) published on the How it works page. Fundraising totals shown on leaderboards are gross amounts. AJR does not charge riders to participate; leaderboard placement reflects funds raised, not payment to AJR.

7. Data and privacy

Your registration data is used for event operations, safety, and communications (WhatsApp, email, SMS) in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Emergency contact details, collected before ride day, are used only in emergencies. Donor identities marked anonymous are never published.

8. Media

The Ride is photographed and filmed. By participating you consent to the reasonable use of imagery featuring you for AJR's non-commercial tribute and awareness purposes. Contact AJR to have a specific image removed.

9. Changes and cancellation

Ride dates, routes, and venues may change due to weather, permissions, or safety directives. AJR may cancel a city ride; registrations then roll to the next edition. These terms may be updated; material changes are notified before ride day.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the city of AJR's registered office.
